Almost every in-person immigration procedure requires an appointment. You book it in the single system of the central government, choosing your province and the type of procedure.
Many procedures can be avoided by filing the application online (the Mercurio platform) if you have a digital certificate or if a registered representative acts for you.
- Anyone who needs to file an application, submit documents, give fingerprints or collect a card.
- Have your NIE or passport number, a phone number and an email address at hand.
- Choose the right "trámite" in the drop-down list: if you pick the wrong one, the office may refuse the application.

By entering your file number (NIE / application number).
- There is no deadline: you book whenever slots are available. If your authorisation is expiring, file the application within the legal deadline even without an appointment (through a public register or online).
